Project Manager Construction Resume Example for Senior Professionals (2026)

By Max Mustermann · Updated May 2026

How to write a Construction Project Manager CV that demonstrates commercial awareness, stakeholder management, and delivery track record — the three capabilities that separate €90k PMs from €160k PMs.

What defines a senior Construction PM CV

Construction Project Managers at the senior level are evaluated differently from general project managers. The construction industry demands evidence of hands-on delivery: you must show that you understand site operations, can manage contractors commercially, and have navigated the complexities of planning permissions, building regulations, and client change management in a live construction environment.

Key insight: The strongest Construction PM CVs lead with project value, building type, and delivery outcome in a single line: “€65M mixed-use development, 280 residential units, delivered 3 months ahead of schedule and 4% under budget.” This single sentence tells the recruiter everything they need for the 15-second scan.

CV mistakes Construction PMs make

1. No project value or type

Every PM bullet must include project value and building type. “Managed construction project” is meaningless. “€95M mixed-use development, 320 units” communicates instantly.

2. Missing commercial evidence

Senior PMs manage budgets, variations, and contractor payments. Include cost performance: “4.2% under budget” or “managed €3.2M in contract variations.”

3. No programme performance

Time is money in construction. State programme performance: “3 months ahead of schedule” or “recovered 6-week delay through re-sequencing.”

4. Contract form not mentioned

NEC, JCT, FIDIC, VOB — the contract form you manage signals your commercial sophistication. Include it.

5. No BIM or digital

BIM coordination, 4D planning, drone surveys, digital reporting — modern construction PM requires digital competence. Include any tools you have used.
