1. P&L language, not just budget language

“Managed a €120M budget” is PM language. “Full P&L ownership delivering 12.3% margin on a €180M programme” is PD language. The difference is accountability for profitability, not just cost control.

2. Client relationship evidence

PDs are hired to manage the client relationship. Your CV must show who you reported to on the client side (VP, SVP, Board) and what level of trust you operated at. “Direct reporting to client VP Operations” signals this immediately.

3. Portfolio, not project

If you have managed multiple concurrent projects or multi-phase programmes, use the word “portfolio” or “programme.” This signals you operate above individual project level.
